Back to work

It's been over 6 months since I finished a model. My wife and I had a baby this last February and since the inception a lot changed for us. I just didn't have a lot of time to build while trying to get everything needed for the new arrival. It was also a new mindset, much like the one I had with my first daughter. Now that we knew another life was going to be in our hands, once again...everything we liked to do came in last. The first time around, we gave up everything...we sold everything including our first house. I was 25 at the time and it seemed like a good idea.
Well this time will be different, we are not going to be stupid like that. I don't think I could ever replace it all and besides my first daughter needs everything to be as normal as possible.

While I am back to building models, it's still going to be hit and miss. I have no regrets , but if you love to build models like I do....then you know it's tough to watch everyone else build killer models while you are twiddling your thumbs on the sidelines.

A couple weeks ago, I decided to bring out a simple no detail part build to get back in the mood. I was lucky to find a Monogram Little T builder from a guy across seas on another message board I frequent. It was a glue bomb, the interior tub, chassis, bed etc was so glued up that I REALLY had to be careful taking it apart....but I had no choice other than to break the body away from the interior tub. I could not cut it away, it was nasty. I picked up the Revell GoodGuys edition of the T because I knew I could use the chrome. What was going to be a restoration is more or less becoming a clone build. I just couldn't salvage the biggest parts of the poor thing. Don't worry...when I am done, you won't be able to tell the body, chassis, bed and misc parts are from the new kit.
I have already redone the interior tub thanks to Super Glue and Baking Soda! Pics can be found here.
